A boy plays . Somebody, later, will play with him.

Nen is a short piece of visual theatre.

Nen is a poem that is written to the extent that it is represented.

Nen speaks of the fall of a child into the world of the adult. The child stops being one, when it realises that magic is synonymous with lies.

Nen is composed of two stages: The first stage is cinematographic: a short film projection of 6 minutes which ends with the fall of the protagonist into space. The second stage picks up from the space where the protagonist fell.

Nen will fall many times in places as different as they are presented.

Nen experiments with cinema, theatre, live music and photography.

2005 - 2006 Schedule:

March 2005: Nen´s first “fall” was presented in Barcelona at AreaTangent  on the 29th of March 2005. The investigation focussed on the puppet in an abstract space with huge dimensions. The doll fell among a tower of tables and crates.

July 2005: Nen´s second “fall” was presented in Paris at the Festival Barionnettes on the 2nd of July 2005. On this occasion, the doll fell inside a framework and subsequently on to a keyboard. The investigation focused on the relation between the puppet, the musician and the live theatrical composition. At the same time a photographic exhibition enveloped the space where the action took place. Portraits of children and possible falls.

May 2006: Nen`s third “fall” was presented in Barcelona at the Civic Centre of Verneda on the 18th of May 2006. This time the doll fell on to a table with a pair of shoes. A video camera transmitted the meeting between the two. Fear and power travel together. The shoe is a symbol of what it is to be human:  they support us and thanks to them we can take a step without leaving a footprint to betray us.
